Today we were introduced to another Creedmoor tradition: the annual Christmas parade. When you can easily see the entire length of Main Street from any single vantage point you can be pretty certain it’s not Macy’s, but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd that lined the sidewalks. From the sheriff leading the procession to the blaring fire trucks to the last marching band, the street was abuzz with the chatter of neighbors and friends and the squeals of excited kids scrambling for the candy being tossed from the passing floats and cars. Occasionally there are things I miss about living in the city. But then along comes a day like this and I’m reminded why I so enjoy life here…in small town North Carolina.
- You know you’re in the country when the floats are pulled by tractors.
- The Hillbilly Bus was a crowd favorite.
